Deep in the heart of East L.A., a Latino boy has fallen asleep over his open geometry book. His chatty sister rudely awakens him on behalf of their father - an OG gangster with a broken leg - and the boy discovers that he is being sent out on a late-night errand to buy a carton of cigarettes. To make matters worse, his father can only give him a fraction of the forty-five dollars needed to buy the carton and informs the boy that he must 'make it work.' He explains to his father that he has a Geometry the next day, but Papi is unyielding and points to the door: 'Go.' What follows is a surprising journey as the studious young boy cloaks himself in the uniform of the street and traverses the late night world of a predominately Latino 'barrio.' As he goes from neighbor to neighbor and, finally, a scary, back-alley dice game, what started off as a dangerous errand transforms into a rite of passage. When Bones returns to face his father, it's not with the eyes of a boy, but with those of a man. Comical, and sometimes harrowing, LITTLE BONES is an authentic story of a boy whose life is pulled in two divergent directions, and we're left with the question of which one he will ultimately choose: the world of the street, or the world of the classroom?
